Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian language course

Each level lasts for four months (18 weeks), with 64 classes altogether (4 classes a week).

  • Courses are held twice a week (in 1.5 hour sessions).
  • Students are divided into groups of up to eight people.
  • Classes are held in two different time slots:

1st shift - from 17:30 to 19:00

2nd shift - from 19:00 to 20:30

Teaching materials

You will receive the textbook and the workbook designed for your level at the beginning of the course. These materials are created as a result of many years of experience in teaching Bosnian as a foreign language and are also based on already existing books for studying BCS.

In addition to this, we use audio and video materials and online resources.

The price for the course is 117 BAM  per month (VAT included)

Applying for the course

After filling out the form you will receive an e-mail with all the necessary details (the schedule and the time of the classes). If you are not attending the beginner's course, you will need to do a placement test (free of charge) so we can assign you to the appropriate group.

In addition to online applications, you can also enrol by filling out an entry form at the premises of the Association.

BCS Language Teacher

She has a BA degree in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian Language and Literatures of the Peoples of BiH. She is currently finishing her MA studies at the Faculty of Philosophy. She has been teaching BCS as a foreign language since 2013. She likes to discuss all things pertaining to language.

Sandra Zlotrg, Executive Director

BCS Teacher

Graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo: the Department of Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian Language and Literatures of the Peoples of BiH as well as the Department of Comparative Literature. She works as a proofreader and teaches BCS as a foreign language. She is interested in feminist linguistics and enjoys explaining why grammar makes sense.

Teacher at the BCS Summer School

Graduated from the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade - the Department for Oriental Studies and finished his MA in Gender Studies at the Center for Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Sarajevo. He has been teaching BCS at the Association since 2009. Since 2012, he has been working as a BCS teacher at the Critical Language Institute (CLI) at the Arizona State University (ASU). He is interested in language politics on the territory of former Yugoslavia, sociolinguistics and social theory.
