Cultural programme
This year we organise theme gatherings as well.
Sevdah at the House of Sevdah – we are visiting the Art House of Sevdah in Baščaršija. We are not only having coffee, but we are also listening to sevdalinka - traditional Bosnian music.
Cooking – this year we are making pie and cakes. If you like traditional cuisine this workshop is the one for you!
Basic steps of folklore dancing – BiH folklore dances are diverse, we've prepared for you the steps you need to know in order to say that you can dance 'kolo'.
Regional film – We are watching a film together. Those of you who are interested in this workshop will have to put the impressions down to paper for homework!
Cyrillic script – Those of you who have not studied the Cyrillic script before will not have any excuses for not doing so now!
BiH literature – Beside a short lecture on the recent literature in BiH, you will have to do some translation in this workshop. We promise it will be fun.
Make sure you specify in your application which workshops you would like to attend. Based on the number of the people interested, we will make a schedule of the workshops and give it to you on the first day of the summer school.
Trip
On Saturday, in between the classes, we will visit a royal and a vizier city. If you are asking yourself what cities we are talking about (Jajce and Travnik) you definitely need to come with us on this one-day-trip!
We are going to discuss the cultural wealth but also the differences of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
